Yup, and that was the outcome. We rounded up the months of hardwork and practices with a silver medal for the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging 2009. Was it justified? I would say no, nothing would ever justify the hardwork, time, effort and faith that each and everyone had put in. Perhaps that is music. We play for the passion, and i believe there can never be a 'perfect' set of judging criteria ever.

I've always been on stage, and yesterday i was there again, but in the seats of the audiences. The feeling that i got though, was not much of a difference. My heart was with the band, so were the other alumni's. The atmosphere was tensed, especially since we were place after Temasek, Anglo Chinese, and Raffles. They were giants before us, but i was glad that Pioneer came on stage so confidently, except for that chair that toppled. We held our breath from the moment they played their first note, till that final crsecendo before Ms Chan cuts it off. It was a job well done, we thought, but fingers were kept crossed for the result. We knew we were nothing compared to those before us, but were happy that we put up the best performance of all the rehearsals.

The moment of truth came, being the last band in the order was torturous, we heard bands before us screamed and cheered, some were quiet and eyes turned red. When Temasek was announced a silver, silence filled the hall. Unexpected. The claps came in after awhile. Band no. 11, Pioneer Junior College - Silver. There were no cheers, just plain clapping. We knew that was gonna be the outcome, but somehow, each and everyone of us hoped for that miracle, rather badly, and it just didnt happened. We left the hall, no words were spoken. We shared a mixed feeling, not sure if we were to be happy or sad. All we knew was, it's over, at last.

Great job to PJCSB, at the very least, we know that we've give our best, and we hold no sense of guilt. PJCSB - We are, and will always be, more then just what a medal says about us. We are, and will always be, not be defined by the colour of a medal. We are PJCSB! =]
